Building Custom Sales Reports: Tips and Common Setups
How do I build a custom sales report for SKU-level sales?
Use the Sales Detailed report base when you need a report that lists a specific SKU with quantity and customer information. Add these filters:
- Order Status = Completed Order
- OrderDateCompleted >= Beginning MM/DD/YYYY
- OrderDateCompleted <= Ending MM/DD/YYYY
- ProductSKU = SKU of Product
This report setup is useful when you want to export customer-related sales data, such as a guest list for an event ticket.
Which report base should I use to include LWBID and CRV fields?
Use the Sales Summary report base. That report base includes the OrderTaxableHandling and BottleDeposit fields, which correspond to the LWBID and CRV-related fields.
If you created a report based on Sales Tax, recreate it using Sales Summary so you can add those fields.
Will the Sales Summary report still show sales by state?
Yes. The ShippingState field is added by default in the Sales Summary report base, so you can use it for reporting by state and then add OrderTaxableHandling and BottleDeposit as needed.
How do I separate club member sales from non-member sales?
Create two reports using the Sales Summary report base and add these fields to both reports:
- OrderType
- MemberType
For the club member sales report, use these filters:
- Order Status = Completed Order
- OrderDateCompleted >= Beginning MM/DD/YYYY
- OrderDateCompleted <= Ending MM/DD/YYYY
- MemberType LIKE Club Members
How do I control the order of fields in the report?
Arrange the report fields in the order you want them displayed after adding the needed fields to the report base.
