eWinery Member Types
Overview of members types in eWinery, including instructions to add, edit, and delete member types.
Member Types
eWinery Member Types are different ways that your customers (Members) are grouped together or ?segmented.? These types can provide information about the user?s history in the system as well as determine which discounts are available to them, which email and newsletter lists a member belongs to, and what kind of access to protected pages and product categories they have.
Some of the Member Types are required in the system and are selected by default when certain actions are taken:
Club Members | Have an active wine club membership.
- Purchasers
- Have made a purchase that was processed through the eWinery Admin Panel. Imported members with Order History will also be marked as purchasers.
- Subscribers
- Members who have choosen to "opt-in" to receiving emails and other marketing communications from your winery
- Unsubscribers
- Members who have previously received communications from the winery and no longer wish to receive them.
Other Member Types are created and maintained either through a list or manually by customer service representatives or wine club managers at the winery. If you would like to add additional member types, such as ?Vendors? or ?Tasting Room Visitors?, you can do so from the Member Types page. Member Types created on this page display in each member's profile under the Types tab and as options in List Builder, PromoBuilder, and Allocation Builder.

Add a Member Type
- Click the Members icon on the Admin Panel. In the sub-menu, select Member Types.

The Member Types page appears.

- On the left pane, click Add A Member Type.

Enter the new member type.
Optional: If you want to base this member type off of a list that is already created in the system, select that list in the "Copy From List" drop down menu.

Click Save.
Edit a Member Type
- Click the Members icon on the Admin Panel. In the sub-menu, select Member Types.

The Member Types page appears, with the Member Types list in the right panel.

Select an item from the list, and click the Edit icon to open the Edit Member Type window.

Make the desired edit.
- Click SAVE.
Delete a Member Type
What you should know BEFORE deleting a Member Type:

When you delete a Member Type all members that had that option selected will have it removed from their accounts. You will NOT be able to maintain a member type selection if the Member Type is deleted.

In order to delete a member type, you must first un-check it from all Lists within ListBuilder.
Delete a Member Type
- Click the Members icon on the Admin Panel. In the sub-menu, select Member Types.

The Member Types page appears, with the Member Types list in the right panel.

- Locate the member type you want to delete, and then click the Delete icon.
- You will receive a message prompting you to confirm the deletion.
*You will not be able to undo the deletion.
- Click OK.
