?Smart Subscribe? feature

To increase security and reduce the number of spam sign-ups, we are implementing a confirmation process for new members and newsletter subscribers.

Starting with the next release, when someone signs up on your website, a confirmation link will be sent automatically to the email address entered on the form via one of our new Automated System Emails (ASEs) which are called ?Mailing List Subscribe Confirmation" and "New Member Sign-Up Confirmation." These ASEs are not optional. Standard text has already been entered into the new Automated System Emails. Emails were activated and made mandatory on 6/23/20.

After the Smart Subscribe feature release, when a new member or subscriber confirms via the new email confirmation link, the existing "New Member Sign-Up" or "Mailing List Subscribe" ASEs will be triggered (if toggled ON in admin panel) and sent.

Please note the alternate ways that a new member account can be confirmed:

• Member logs in using that email address
• Member creates an order using that email address
• Member signs up for a wine club using that email address
• Admin panel user confirms via member profile
  • The email address is searchable in the admin panel so that a user can manually confirm it.
  • There will be a ??? in the Actions column for any member that needs confirming.
  • Unconfirmed members can be also searched for via the Confirmation Status drop-down
