System-Wide MetaTags Tab
Overview of System-Wide MetaTags Tab in eWinery
Definitions of Meta data fields
-
Meta Tag Title is what appears in reverse type at the very top of the browser. If nothing is placed there, it will be the URL of the page being viewed. Putting a Title Tag allows you to define what the user sees. The meta tag title will not be seen by customers on your wine page, but it will be seen at the very top of your browser window (most likely on the tab for that page in your browser). More importantly, it is the title that the search engines will see. -
Meta Tag Keywords guide the search engines to what is on a particular page. Not all search engines use this or value this highly. The keywords must relate to the content of the page. Adding words or phrases unrelated to the content of the page itself can get your site ignored or delisted.
-
Meta Tag Description summarizes briefly what your site or page is about. Without it, the search engines may simply pull up a random phrase or sentence from your site. With it, you can control how your site is defined and what people see when the site is displayed by search engines.
-
Marketing URL cleans up the URL string shown in your internet browser. Instead of showing a long string consisting of the Page and Category ID, which to a consumer looks like a line of gibberish, the URL is cleaned up to show a clear, concise overview of what page the customer is on.
