Payment Processing & Hardware Compatibility

Which payment processors work with TPOS?

TPOS is compatible with the following payment processors:

  • Global Payments (formerly OpenEdge)

  • Authorize.net

  • Worldpay

Which credit card swipers are compatible with TPOS?

TPOS supports ID Tech Unimag Pro swipers.

  • Required Model Number: 80110004-001

  • To purchase, contact vinSUITE Support or your hardware vendor.

Does TPOS support EMV (chip) payments?

Yes, but only when using Global Payments as the processor.

  • Compatible Reader: BBPOS Chipper C3X

  • To purchase, complete the Global Payments Sales Contact Form.


Features & Functionality

Can TPOS be used for bar tabs?

Not yet. Bar tab functionality is on our roadmap, but a release date is not currently available.

Does TPOS accept gift certificates?

Not yet. Support for gift certificates is planned for future updates, but no ETA is available at this time.

Can TPOS support additional printers for kitchen or bar orders?

Yes. TPOS allows additional kitchen and bar printers to be connected for order routing. Printer connectivity may vary (e.g., Bluetooth or network-based) depending on your setup.

What is the recommended receipt printer for TPOS?

We recommend the Star TSP100III receipt printer for reliable performance.


Device Compatibility

Which iPads are compatible with TPOS?

TPOS runs on most modern iPads using iOS 12 or later (minimum required as of TPOS version 1.10.x).

While many iPads qualify, we do not recommend using the iPad Air, as it may experience performance issues.

Best Practices for Keeping TPOS Up-to-Date

? Keep TPOS Updated

Regularly check for updates to TPOS by vinSUITE in the App Store. Updates often include new features, performance improvements, and critical bug fixes.

? Be Cautious with iOS Updates

While keeping your iPad current is usually beneficial, new iOS releases can sometimes introduce changes that impact:

  • Payment SDK compatibility

  • Printer connections

  • Saved settings (e.g., remembered devices)

If you're unsure whether to update, check with vinSUITE Support first.

? Restart Your iPad Weekly

A simple restart helps resolve minor glitches and keeps the app running smoothly.

Ensure that your card readers, printers, and other accessories are securely connected and functioning as expected.
